Education: Ms. Tuyet Nhung graduated from Hanoi Open University – Biotechnology Faculty; Hanoi University – English language Faculty; and Hanoi Law University. She also completed the following courses: (i) “APEC IPi-Facilitator Program” that jointly organized by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA); (ii) “Advanced International Certificate” jointly organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA); and (iii) “Advance Training” on Intellectual Property organized by the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (IPVN) and Ho Chi Minh City Law University. Further, Ms. Tuyet Nhung obtained a Patent Attorney Certificate.
Experience:
With a Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology with distinction from Hanoi Open University, Ms. Nhung previously worked at the Institute of Biological and Food Technology at Hanoi University of Science and Technology as an Assistant Researcher, gaining valuable experience in biotechnology and biochemistry. Subsequently, she obtained a law degree from Hanoi Law University and completed the lawyer training course at the Judicial Academy.
Now, Ms. Nhung is a registered IP Agent with a substantial background in chemical, biotechnology, and biochemistry within the life sciences and IP Law. Before joining INVESTIP, she worked as a Patent Specialist at the Patent and Industrial Design Department of Banca IP Firm for three years. Her main duties here included managing all matters related to patent and industrial design cases. Since joining INVESTIP in 2012, she has been part of the Patent Department. Currently, Ms. Nhung oversees various sections, including prosecuting patent/design applications, drafting patent specifications, providing professional advice on patent/design matters, filing patent/design appeals, handling patent/design oppositions and/or invalidations, as well as offering professional guidance on patent and design inquiries in Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.
Appointing as the Deputy Director of the patent department at INVESTIP in 2018, Ms. Nhung has been in this role since. Until now, she has assisted clients in prosecuting and managing nearly 1,100 patent and design cases. Additionally, she has supported clients in successfully registering over 800 cases with the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam.
