Vietnam – Reduction in delays in handling IP cases after amended IP law
The Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (IPVN) has issued Notice No. 1029/TB-SHTT dated 14 March 2023 regarding additional handling of certain Intellectual Property (IP) applications and requests such as requests for patent invalidation (IP cases).
Vietnam – Collaborative search and examination (CS&E) pilot program between the intellectual property offices of Vietnam and Singapore
Recently, the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (IPVN) and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) collaborated, for the first time within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), to launch the CS&E program for accelerating the patent search and examination in both countries.
Vietnam – New guidelines for design examination
On 16 May 2022, the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (IPVN) issued new Guidelines for design examination which were to replace the old Guidelines of 8 December 2009. Improvements have been found in the new Guidelines and a number of them have been discussed below.
New regulations on co-authors in the Law on Intellectual property 2022
This is one of the important contents prescribed in the Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Intellectual Property No. 07/2022/QH15 which is adopted by the National Assembly on June 16, 2022.
